How much longer will Putin inflict hell on Ukrainians: an expert’s opinion
The dictator will focus solely on escalating the military conflict rather than preparing for peace talks.
Until the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, Russia will concentrate on further military escalation.
This opinion was shared by Ihor Popov, an expert from the analytical center United Ukraine, during an interview on Freedom.
“Until there is an official plan from Trump and possibly up to Trump’s inauguration, Russia will attempt to regain control over Kursk region by military means, continue its offensives, and exert maximum pressure on Western public opinion through diplomatic and informational channels,” Popov stated.
The expert also pointed out that missile strikes on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine indicated Russia’s intention to intensify the conflict rather than prepare for peace talks. According to him, the Kremlin seeks to create leverage for minimal compromises in the future.
“Russia’s demands are extremely ambitious, but the aggressors aim to approach negotiations from the strongest possible position. This is a logical strategy for the enemy. At the same time, it’s crucial for Ukraine’s allies to understand that negotiations should begin from a position of strength,” Popov added.
